Active North American Network 24/7 Dispatch Desk

Precision Freight Logistics & Dedicated Dispatch Solutions

Avenport Logistics LLC coordinates full truckload, temperature-controlled, flatbed and expedited freight between commercial shippers and vetted motor carriers across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Every load is tendered against verified operating authority, an active safety rating and a current certificate of insurance — then tracked from rate confirmation through proof of delivery.

01

FMCSA / DOT Compliance Verification

Active interstate operating authority, MC and USDOT numbers and safety rating are checked against FMCSA records before a carrier is added to the network.

02

COI Validation Before Tender

Certificates of insurance are pulled direct from the agent of record and re-verified at expiry, with Avenport named as certificate holder.

03

Real-Time Check Calls & GPS Visibility

Scheduled check calls on a four-hour cadence in transit, backed by GPS location on equipment that supports it and immediate exception alerts.

04

Rate Con & BOL Automation

Rate confirmations, bills of lading and proof of delivery issued and returned digitally, so accessorials and detention are documented as they happen.

Freight Services

Four service lines, coordinated from one dispatch desk

Avenport arranges transportation as a licensed property broker: we hold the shipper relationship, vet and contract the motor carrier, and stay on the load until delivery is documented. The equipment below is what we tender against every day.

Full Truckload (FTL) Freight Management

Single-tender dry van capacity on contract and spot lanes, with the trailer dedicated to your freight from pickup through delivery — no cross-docking, no transloading, one bill of lading.

  • 53' and 48' dry van, air-ride and spring-ride
  • Drop-and-hook and live load / live unload
  • Lane pricing with fuel surcharge stated separately
  • Power-only tendering against shipper-owned trailers

Temperature-Controlled & Reefer Transport

Refrigerated capacity for perishable, frozen and climate-sensitive freight, dispatched with the set point, pre-cool requirement and continuous or cycle-sentry mode confirmed in writing on the rate confirmation.

  • Set points from −20 °F to +70 °F, continuous or cycle
  • Pre-cool verification and trailer wash-out documentation
  • Reefer download retained with the proof of delivery
  • FSMA Sanitary Transportation requirements passed to the carrier

Flatbed, Step Deck & Specialized Cargo

Open-deck coordination for building materials, steel, machinery and equipment, matched to the securement and clearance the load actually needs rather than to whatever is nearest.

  • 48' / 53' flatbed, step deck, double drop and RGN
  • Securement tendered to FMCSA cargo securement rules (49 CFR 393)
  • Tarping, coil racks, chains, straps and edge protection specified
  • Over-dimensional permits and escort coordination by state

Expedited & Time-Critical Freight Coordination

Direct-drive capacity for production-down, recovery and appointment-critical freight, sourced against hours-of-service remaining rather than against a posted rate alone.

  • Team drivers for continuous transit on long lanes
  • Sprinter, cargo van and straight truck for partial loads
  • Hot shot and dedicated single-load service
  • Hourly status updates while the load is in exception

Moving something that does not fit the four lines above — LTL and partial loads, flatbed out of a port, or a recurring dedicated lane? Describe it on the quote form and a dispatcher will come back with capacity and a rate.

Fleet & Equipment

Equipment specifications we tender against

Avenport is a broker: the trailers below belong to the contracted motor carriers in our network, not to us. Knowing their real dimensions is what stops a load being tendered onto equipment that cannot legally or physically carry it.

53 ft

53' Dry Van

The default for palletised freight. Enclosed, sealed and dock-height, with 26 standard pallet positions on the floor.

Interior length
52ʹ 6″
Interior width
99″
Door opening
98″ × 105″
Typical payload
45,000 lb
53 ft

Refrigerated (Reefer)

Insulated trailer with a nose-mounted refrigeration unit. Set point, mode and pre-cool are fixed on the rate confirmation before dispatch.

Set point range
−20 °F to +70 °F
Operating mode
Continuous or cycle
Interior width
97″
Typical payload
44,000 lb
48–53 ft

48' / 53' Flatbed

Open deck for freight that loads by crane or forklift from the side. Securement is specified load by load, never left to the driver to improvise.

Deck width
102″
Deck height
5ʹ (loaded)
Max freight height
8ʹ 6″ unpermitted

Trailer classes coordinated by Avenport Logistics LLC, with deck dimensions, typical payload range, pallet capacity and representative freight.
Equipment Deck / interior Typical payload Pallet positions Representative freight
53' Dry Van 52ʹ 6″ × 99″ × 110″ 42,000 – 45,000 lb 26 standard (48″ × 40″) Palletised consumer goods, packaged food, retail replenishment
48' Dry Van 47ʹ 6″ × 99″ × 108″ 42,000 – 44,000 lb 24 standard Dense or floor-loaded freight, shorter dock approaches
53' Refrigerated 50ʹ × 97″ × 102″ 42,000 – 44,000 lb 24 standard Produce, protein, dairy, frozen, climate-sensitive goods
48' Flatbed 48ʹ × 102″ open deck 46,000 – 48,000 lb Deck-loaded Steel, lumber, pipe, building materials, crated machinery
53' Flatbed 53ʹ × 102″ open deck 43,000 – 45,000 lb Deck-loaded Long-length material, multi-stop open-deck lanes
Step Deck 11ʹ upper / 37ʹ lower × 102″ 42,000 – 45,000 lb Deck-loaded Freight up to 10ʹ tall without an over-height permit
Double Drop / RGN 26ʹ – 29ʹ well × 102″ 40,000 – 150,000 lb Deck-loaded Self-propelled and over-dimensional machinery, permit loads
Straight Truck / Sprinter 10ʹ – 26ʹ box 3,000 – 12,500 lb 1 – 12 Partial loads, expedited recovery, liftgate and residential

Payload is a range because usable weight depends on the tractor, fuel load and axle configuration under the 80,000 lb federal gross combination weight limit. Freight over 13′ 6″ tall, 102″ wide or 80,000 lb gross requires state permits and, on many routes, escort vehicles — tell us the dimensions and we will quote the permitted configuration rather than the cheapest one.

500 – 1,000 mi Chicago → Atlanta 2 days 1 day

1,500 – 2,000 mi Miami → Dallas 4 days 2 days
2,000 – 2,900 mi Los Angeles → Atlanta 5 days 2 – 3 days

Door-to-door estimates for dry freight, assuming a solo driver operating inside the federal 11-hour driving and 14-hour on-duty limits at roughly 500 practical miles a day. Appointment windows, border clearance, weather and seasonal capacity all move these numbers — a dispatcher confirms the committed window on the rate confirmation, not from this table.

Detention & accessorials

Free time, detention rate, layover, TONU and driver-assist charges are stated on the rate confirmation before dispatch. Detention is logged from the check-in time recorded at the facility, so a claim is evidenced rather than argued.

Dispatch Workflow

How a load moves through our desk

The same five steps run on every shipment, whether it is one spot load or a recurring contract lane. Nothing advances to the next step until the previous one is documented.

  1. Step 1: Lane intake & rate

Send origin, destination, equipment, weight, commodity and pickup window. We price the lane against live market capacity and return an all-in rate with the fuel surcharge broken out.

    Response target: 60 minutes

  2. Step 2: Carrier sourcing & vetting

Capacity is sourced from carriers already cleared through our vetting file. Authority, safety rating and insurance are re-checked at tender, not taken on file.

Authority · Safety rating · COI

  3. Step 3: Rate confirmation & dispatch

A rate confirmation fixes the rate, the equipment, the appointment windows, the securement or set point, and the accessorial schedule before the driver rolls.

Rate con issued to both parties

  4. Step 4: Check calls & load visibility

Dispatch confirms loaded and empty, takes check calls on a four-hour cadence, and raises an exception the moment a load is running against its appointment.

    Every 4 hrs in transit

  5. Step 5: POD, detention & settlement

The signed bill of lading and proof of delivery come back digitally. Overages, shortages and damages are noted at delivery, and detention is billed from the recorded check-in time.

    Documents returned with the invoice

Carrier Vetting & Safety

No carrier hauls for us until the file is complete

Freight fraud and double-brokering are the two fastest ways a shipper loses a load. Every carrier in the Avenport network clears the same file before a single shipment is tendered to them, and clears it again on every load.

Auto liability
$1,000,000

Avenport Logistics LLC arranges freight transportation as a property broker. We contract with licensed motor carriers to move your freight; we do not operate trucks or employ drivers ourselves.

  1. 01

    Active interstate operating authority

MC and USDOT numbers are looked up against FMCSA records and the authority must be active for the type of freight being tendered. Pending, revoked and out-of-service authority is rejected outright.

  2. 02

    Safety rating & CSA performance

Carriers rated Conditional or Unsatisfactory are excluded. Satisfactory and unrated carriers are screened on their CSA BASIC percentiles, with Unsafe Driving and Hours-of-Service weighted heaviest.

  3. 03

Cargo insurance of at least $100,000

The certificate is obtained from the agent of record rather than from the carrier, names Avenport Logistics LLC as certificate holder, and is re-verified before expiry. Higher limits are required where the commodity value calls for it.

  4. 04

Auto liability of at least $1,000,000

Primary auto liability at the federal minimum or above, plus reefer breakdown coverage on temperature-controlled loads and trailer interchange where the lane requires it.

  5. 05

    Executed broker–carrier agreement

Our agreement is signed before the first dispatch and prohibits re-brokering or co-brokering the load without prior written consent. A load found re-brokered is grounds for immediate removal from the network.

  6. 06

    Identity & payment-fraud screening

Dispatch phone numbers, email domains and remittance details are reconciled against the FMCSA record. Recent changes to an authority address, phone or ownership are flagged and re-verified before capacity is used.

  7. 07

Ongoing monitoring, not a one-time check

Authority status, insurance currency and safety data are re-checked at every tender and on certificate expiry. A carrier that falls out of standard stops receiving loads that day.

  8. 08

    Commodity-specific qualification

Food-grade, temperature-controlled and over-dimensional freight is tendered only to carriers qualified for it — sanitary transport capability, continuous-mode reefer equipment, or permitted oversize experience on the route.

Carriers: to be added to the vetting file, send your MC number, W-9, signed agreement and a certificate of insurance from your agent of record.

About Avenport

A freight desk built around accountability, not volume

Avenport Logistics LLC is a third-party logistics and freight dispatch coordination agency working out of Kissimmee, Florida. We connect commercial shippers with vetted motor carriers and stay on the load from rate confirmation through proof of delivery.

One dispatcher owns your load

The person who quotes the lane is the person who dispatches it and the person who calls you when something changes. There is no ticket queue and no hand-off to an overnight desk that has not read the file.

Rates are quoted all-in and broken out

The linehaul, the fuel surcharge and every accessorial are stated separately on the rate confirmation. If a charge was not on the rate con, it does not appear on the invoice.

We do not re-broker your freight

The carrier we name on the rate confirmation is the carrier that hauls the load. Our broker–carrier agreement prohibits re-brokering without our written consent, and we enforce it.

Exceptions are reported, not buried

A missed appointment, a breakdown or a temperature excursion is called through as soon as we know, with the recovery options alongside it. You hear it from us first.

What a 3PL does, plainly

A third-party logistics provider arranges transportation rather than performing it. Avenport holds the commercial relationship with the shipper, sources and contracts qualified motor carriers, issues the rate confirmation and bill of lading, coordinates the pickup and delivery appointments, tracks the load in transit, and settles the carrier. The shipper deals with one counterparty instead of a dozen; the carrier deals with one dispatcher instead of a dozen brokers.

What we need to quote a lane

  • Origin and destination city and state
  • Equipment type and any temperature set point
  • Commodity, total weight and pallet or piece count
  • Pickup date and any delivery appointment window
  • Whether either facility needs a liftgate or driver assist

Load already in transit?

Call the dispatch line and quote your load or rate confirmation number rather than using this form. A dispatcher can reach the driver directly.
